A 36-year-old labourer was on Monday arrested following the discovery of 850 grammes of cannabis during a cordon and search at his Stanleytown, New Amsterdam, Berbice house.
In custody is Jim Schultz.
Police Headquarters reported that ranks acting on intelligence received went to the man’s house.
Police said two black plastic bags were found in a cupboard. The bags contained leaves, seeds, and stems suspected to be cannabis.
According to the Police, Schultz was told of the offence and he accepted ownership of the cannabis by stating, “Officer, is me thing, is a lil thing you boi doing”.
Thereafter, a further search was carried out in Schultz’s bedroom and another black plastic bag was found under a bed.
That bag also contained a quantity of leaves, seeds, and stems suspected to be cannabis.
Schultz was told of the offence committed and cautioned, and he replied, saying: “I did tell you is a lil thing you boi doing”.
The cannabis was weighted and amounted to 850 grammes altogether.
Police said several cell phones were also found and seized. Schultz was placed into custody pending further investigations.
