Lady Jags stay in hunt with 4-0 rout of Antigua and Barbuda

Guyana’s Lady Jags have surged into a three-way tie at the top of Concacaf Women’s Qualifiers Group B, delivering a dominant 4-0 performance against Antigua and Barbuda at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium on Thursday evening.

The victory moves Guyana to six points, sitting level with regional giants Jamaica and second-place Nicaragua, setting up a high-stakes final qualifying window in April.

Guyana took the lead in the 15th minute off an own goal by Antigua and Barbuda defender Karmiellia Hughes.

The visitors doubled their advantage in the 55th minute, when captain Brianne Desa unleashed a rocket from way outside the box.

Guyana extended its lead in the 67th minute after Annalise Vincent converted from the penalty spot, following a handball in the box from Hughes.

Vincent notched her second of the night in the 77th minute, as she took advantage of a deflection and fired it home for the final blow of the match.
