International Building Expo 2026 will focus on innovation, sustainability and the future of construction in Guyana, as the country continues to undergo rapid transformation.
This year’s expo will be held from June 25–28 at the Guyana National Stadium, under the theme “Guyana at 60: Building Strong Foundations for a Sustainable Future.”
At the media launch on Thursday, Minister of Housing, Collin Croal described the expo as a critical platform that brings together every segment of the construction and housing sector to shape the country’s development.
“The expo provides a timely and strategic opportunity to bring all of these elements together in one place. It showcases not only 60 years of progress in housing and infrastructure but also the future of building in Guyana from smart and prefabricated solutions to climate resilient infrastructure to green technologies and innovative housing models,” he said.

The event, Croal said reflects the country’s rapid transformation and the increasing demand for modern, sustainable and efficient building solutions as housing schemes expand across all regions.
He explained that the expo has evolved into more than just an exhibition, becoming a space where developers, contractors, architects, financiers, suppliers and technical experts can connect, collaborate and explore new ideas that support national growth.
Croal further noted that the housing sector continues to play a central role in Guyana’s development, with expanded access to land ownership, accelerated housing development and investments in infrastructure supporting thousands of families.
This year’s expo also coincides with Guyana’s 60th anniversary of independence, which Croal said makes the focus on forward looking development even more significant.
In addition to showcasing modern building technologies, the expo is expected to provide opportunities for investment and engagement, linking local and international stakeholders while giving citizens direct access to information on housing options, financing and emerging technologies in construction.
Minister within the Ministry of Housing, Vanessa Benn said the event is designed to ensure every citizen benefit from the sector’s expansion.
“International building expo brings home owners to have a firsthand assessment of the products and to engage with service providers who are equipped to provide answers to their questions,” Benn said.

She too encouraged stakeholders, visitors and members of the diaspora to participate, noting that the government’s broader development agenda is focused on long-term resilience and inclusive growth.
“Our intent, our drive, our mission, our work programme is geared towards ensuring we are truly building a vibrant and resilient future for Guyana,” she said.
