The 2025 Guyana Energy Conference and Supply Chain Expo will be held from February 18 to 21 and a focus on artificial intelligence (A.I.) alongside new technology solutions are expected.
At the conference launch on Monday, Chief Executive Officer of the Guyana Energy Conference and Supply Chain Expo, Kiana Wilburg said several key topics will be tackled next year.
Those topics include the energy transition, financing sustainable development initiative, developing a work force for the future, building resilient supply chain and promoting the advancement of women in this industry.
Additionally, sessions will also be held for discussions on areas such as renewable energy integration, supply chain optimisation, the application of A.I. to improve efficient and resilience.
“The 2025 Guyana Energy Conference and Supply Chain expo is set to be our most impactful yet, serving as a critical platform for advancing discussions on sustainability, innovation and inclusive growth.
“As we navigate the dynamic landscape of the global energy sector, I am pleased to say that this event is no doubt poised to be the super bowl of regional energy conference, doing its part to leave a roadmap behind for future generations to follow,” Wilburg said.
At the launch held at the Marriott Hotel in Kingston, Georgetown, a news app and podcast app, designed to deliver reliable and up-to-date information was also launched by digital partner, V75 Inc.
The app will be called ‘EnergyEcho’ and it can be downloaded in the iOS and Google Play Store
The initiative is expected to be an essential tool for stakeholders, offering insights on trends and development within the energy sector.
Meanwhile, Guyana’s Minister of Natural Resources Vickram Bharrat welcomed the diverse focus of the conference. That, he said, aligns with the government’s developmental focus.
“…Guyana as a new oil producing country, we are becoming a role model among new oil producing countries around the world.
“We know that oil and gas don’t last forever….As people in Guyana search for opportunities in the new oil and gas sector, we have a conference that will highlight opportunities across all sectors. So it shows we are committed to diversifying our economy and not only to focus on one particular sector,” Bharrat said.
The conference will be held under the theme: “Connecting the dots: Integrating the future”.
With registration yet to open, the event is poised to attract at least 7000 delegates, feature more than 180 booths and over 70 speakers.
Additionally, ExxonMobil Guyana is the title sponsor for the conference for the fourth consecutive year.
ExxonMobil Guyana President, Alistair Routledge said every year, the conference continues to build, becoming larger and more effective.
“It is for us a great platform to bring the business sector, both local and international together, with the policy makers, with academics to have a really strong conversations about the issues of the day in particular about energy and the development of the nation but also the part it is playing in the region and beyond,” Routledge said.
This year’s theme, he said, is consistent with the way ExonMobil is looking into the future and addressing the challenges faced as they continue to deliver affordable and reliable energy.
