Bus driver, vendor jailed for stealing over $26M in items

Two men were sentenced to three years and four months imprisonment after they were jointly charged for Break and Enter and Larceny on Friday.

Safraz Oullah, called “Antsman,” a 27-years-old bus driver of Para Street, Anna Regina, Essequibo Coast, and Joel Christopher Li, a 30-year-old vendor La Belle Alliance, Essequibo Coast, appeared at the Suddie Magistrate’s Court before Magistrate Tamieka Clarke.

The robbery occurred between August, 24 and 25, 2024, Police reported.

The duo is accused of stealing a quantity of jewellry, US currency, watches, and Guyana currency with a total value of $26.5 million from a 30-year-old businessman, his father and mother of Three Friends, Essequibo Coast.
