Global exchange of ideas: Int’l Business Conference to feature about 50% foreign speakers

Nearly half of the speakers at the upcoming International Business Conference (IBC) will be from abroad, setting the stage for a truly global exchange of ideas.

Scheduled to kick off in another 41 days, between October 15 – 17 at the Guyana Marriott Hotel, the conference promises to be a hub of international business dialogue.

The IBC will showcase a diverse mix of voices, with around 30 per cent of the speakers hailing from Guyana with a focus on specific local sectors.

Another 20 per cent will come from Suriname, delving into crucial topics such as agriculture, manufacturing, infrastructure, energy, finance, logistics, and business support services.

The core mission of the IBC is to enhance the ease of doing business and foster investment opportunities between international firms and local businesses in Guyana and Suriname.

By inviting international companies with intellectual property, financial resources, and a drive for regional investment, the conference aims to create fruitful connections and collaborations.

“We look at this mix of expertise that is coming to Guyana that will present what is happening in both countries, but also some of the opportunities and technologies that can be brought to bear in these two countries,” said Vishnu Doerga, Organiser and Chairman of ActionINVEST Caribbean Inc., in an interview with News Room on Tuesday.

Doerga also noted that many of the participating companies will be visiting Guyana for the first time. “We look forward to making those connections in a very structured way,” he added.

To streamline the experience, an event app will soon be launched, providing participants with all the essential information and facilitating early communication.

The IBC is set to feature 17 engaging conference sessions, 30 diverse exhibitors, 600 delegates, and over 1,000 trade visitors, ensuring a robust and interactive event.
