The Guyana Lottery Company Limited (GLCL) on Monday launched its Lotto Supa 6 Christmas Spectacular promotion at its office on Lamaha Street, in Georgetown.
Through this promotion, the winner will take home a brand new Toyota Yaris Cross from Beharry Automotive Limited, valued at almost $10 million (duty included).
To win the car, along with a series of other prizes in the promotion, a person can enter by spending $1,000 on a single ‘Supa 6’ ticket to get one coupon, or by spending $2,000 on a single ‘Supa 6’ ticket to get three coupons, the latter of which essentially translates to more chances of winning.
The promotion period, which comes as the company is celebrating 28 years of service in Guyana, is from October 7 to December 14.
General Manager at GLCL Kalima Ali offered that the company currently offers 10 lottery games throughout Guyana and that it brought the first electronic game in 1997 – 3D, followed by the popular Lotto game now known as Lotto Supa 6.
She noted how despite the negative connotations attached to playing lotto, it has in fact been helping families across the country for years now.
“Two weeks ago I had a fortunate encounter with a family that won the recent $38 million jackpot and I was encouraged by their story. The winner was an older Guyanese gentleman from Georgetown who had suffered an illness which resulted in him having to live with a disability.
“He said that he started to play the lottery about a year ago after his disability and he was most grateful to win. He is no longer stressed about taking care of his needs and that of his family,” Ali related.
