Chase Academy ousts Clarendon to reach KFC International School football final

Chase’s Academic Foundation secured their place in the KFC Goodwill International School Football final with a thrilling 5-4 victory over defending champions Clarendon College of Jamaica at the Ministry of Education ground on Friday evening.

Chase Academy displayed impressive resilience and attacking prowess in a closely contested match.

Despite falling behind early, they rallied back with a series of goals, including a hat-trick from Omar Sam.

Clarendon College fought valiantly but ultimately fell short.

Earlier, St. Benedict’s College defeated Annai Secondary 3-1 in the other semi-final.

The final will be played Sunday, with Chase Academy facing St. Benedict’s College in a highly anticipated rematch.

The  Trinidadian outfit defeated Chase 3-0 in the preliminary rounds.

The final will be from 19:30h, while the third place playoff will be from 17:30h.

The stakes are high for this year’s tournament, as the winners will take home a cash prize of US$5,000 and a beautiful hand-sculpted wooden trophy.

Notably, this trophy will be a lien, meaning a team must win the competition at least three times to claim it permanently.
