‘All records accounted for’ – Housing Ministry says after annex ransacked

See below the full statement from the Ministry of Housing and Water:

The Ministry of Housing and Water, through the Central Housing and Planning Authority, would like to inform the public about an incident that occurred at one of our offices. We are pleased to report that all records remain intact, and nothing valuable has been lost.

(Monday) morning, staff arrived at work to find that our Annex office, located at 42 Croal and United Nations Place, had been ransacked. The building houses the Community Development Department. Contrary to reports from some media outlets, the Ministry’s headquarters at Brickdam and United Nations Place was not broken into.

This incident appears to be a random act of burglary, as a lone suspect was captured on CCTV entering the premises.

The break-in is believed to have occurred sometime between 8:00 PM on Sunday, March 2, and 7:00 AM on Monday, March 3. Although the building was properly secured and a security guard was on duty, the suspect managed to gain entry through a window located in a secluded area, going unnoticed.

The police were promptly notified and processed the scene, retrieving the CCTV footage to assist in the investigation. Staff conducted thorough checks, and the public can be assured that all records and files have been accounted for.
