Guyana’s hopes of reaching the Regional Women’s Super50 final were dashed as their final league match against Trinidad and Tobago was abandoned due to rain, resulting in a no-result at Warner Park, St. Kitts.
The washout meant Guyana finished third in the standings.
A victory was essential for Guyana to secure a place in the final.
Instead, Barbados and Trinidad and Tobago will contest the title on Friday, while Guyana, who finished second to Jamaica in 2024, will face Jamaica in the third-place playoff.
Earlier in the day, Guyana were dismissed for 108 in 45.2 overs.
Shabika Gajnabi top-scored with a patient 51 off 96 balls, and Ashmini Munisar contributed 19, but the rest of the batting struggled.
Trinidad and Tobago’s bowlers, Karishma Ramharack (3-14) and Ameila Khan (3-18), were particularly effective.
In their brief reply, Trinidad and Tobago reached 16-2 in eight overs before the rain intervened. Cherry-Ann Fraser (1-4) and Plaffiana Millington (1-11) took the wickets.
