Jamaica Scorpions suffered a dramatic batting collapse on day two of their West Indies Four-Day Championship clash with Guyana Harpy Eagles at Sabina Park, succumbing to a paltry 44 all out.
Ronaldo Alimohamed and Nial Smith were the architects of the Scorpions’ downfall, combining to take all ten wickets.
Alimohamed finished with figures of 6-17, while Smith claimed 4-21, as the hosts were dismissed in just 25.5 overs.
The Harpy Eagles, resuming their first innings on 268-5, were eventually bowled out for 339.
Kevlon Anderson’s century was the foundation of their total, with valuable contributions also coming from Matthew Nandu and Kemol Savory.
Odean Smith took five wickets for the Scorpions, but the following batting collapse overshadowed his efforts.
The Harpy Eagles, with a commanding lead of 295, opted to bat again and not enforce the follow-on.
At the close of play, they were 68-1, extending their overall lead to 363. Tagenarine Chanderpaul and Tevin Imlach remained unbeaten at the crease.
The Scorpions now face an uphill battle to salvage anything from the match, while the Harpy Eagles will look to dominate and secure a third win this season.
