The Guyana Football Federation’s Elite League VII commenced on Sunday night at the National Training Centre at Providence, East Bank Demerara, with commanding wins for Ann’s Grove and Slingerz FC.
In the curtain raiser, Ann’s Grove inflicted a 6-1 defeat on Mainstay Goldstar FC, while in the feature clash, Slingerz FC thumped Monedderlust 4-1.
Ann’s Grove got a double from Yohance Francis, who netted in the 20th and 89th minutes, while Jamal Thuesday (40th), Steve Francis (47th), Quincy Barry (76th) and Kemron Pellew (90+3) added a solitary goal each.
Robeno Kanhai (54th) got on the scoresheet for Mainstay Goldstar FC.
Slingerz FC starting line-up
Slingerz FC’s dominance was led by Kemar Beckford, who tucked in a hat-trick, netting in the 39th, 44th and 90+3 minutes. Jeremy Garrett scored the other goal in the 77th minute.
Dawit Watts in the 60th minute was on target for Monedderlust.
Elite League VII action continue this weekend with a pair of double-headers at the National Training Centre.
