Works have begun on the second phase of the Wales, West Bank Demerara housing development which will provide both residential and commercial lots.

Speaking at a recent event, Minister of Housing and Water, Collin Croal said a sum of $17 billion has been set aside to develop the infrastructure in the area to allow access.

“We have begun the Wales Phase Two housing development which is providing both residential and commercial opportunities,” Croal said.

With thousands of allocations already done in the region, Croal said persons will be able to access their lands in the next two weeks.

The government is well on its way of exceeding its target promised of delivering 50,000 house lots within five years.
