The 2025 Milo Under-18 Secondary School Football Tournament has exploded into life as an opening weekend of high-scoring encounters will set the stage for crucial group-stage clashes this Saturday and Sunday.
Defending champions Chase’s Academic Foundation, Dolphin Secondary, and Abram Zuil Secondary have laid down early markers, delivering dominant victories and sending a clear message to their rivals.
The action heats up this Saturday at the Ministry of Education as Bartica Secondary takes on Carmel Secondary at 12:30h.
Following this clash, Chase’s Academic Foundation will face off against West Demerara Secondary at 14:30h before Santa Rosa Secondary goes head-to-head with New Central at 16:30h.
Over at Queen’s Ground, the excitement kicks off half an hour earlier. Three Mile Secondary will battle Hope, followed by South Ruimveldt taking on New Amsterdam, and Charlestown set to challenge Brickdam Secondary.
The competition continues on Sunday, with both venues hosting the same match order.
Ann’s Grove will face Bush Lot at the Ministry’s ground, followed by Abram Zuil facing West Minister and Waramuri clashing with Vreed-En-Hoop Secondary.
Meanwhile, at QC, President’s College will meet Tutorial, with Dolphin taking on Yarrowkabra and West Ruimveldt facing St. John’s College.
The tournament boasts substantial prizes, with the winning school receiving GY$300,000 towards a school project.
Second, third, and fourth-place finishers will also receive significant prize money for school projects.
Individual awards for MVP, Best Goalkeeper, and Highest Goal Scorer will be presented, along with an award for the most disciplined school.
