Guyana to open Rising Stars U-15 campaign against Trinidad

A new generation of Caribbean cricketers will be on show in April when Cricket West Indies stages the West Indies Rising Stars Under-15 Championship in Antigua.

Five rounds of 50-over matches will be played from April 15 to 23 at four venues on the island, with all games starting 09:30h.

Guyana’s first match is against Trinidad and Tobago on April 15 at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, followed by a round two clash against Jamaica at the Antigua Recreation Ground on April 17.

On April 19, Guyana will face Windward Islands at the Antigua Recreation Ground, while on April 21, the Guyanese will be up against Leeward Islands at the same venue.

In the final round, on April 23, Guyana will play against Barbados at the Coolidge Cricket Ground.

Off-spinning all-rounder Richard Ramdeholl will lead a strong Guyana squad, with fellow all-rounder Brandon Henry his deputy.

Ramdeholl and Henry are among four players returning from last year’s squad, the others being wicketkeeper/batsman Justin Dowlin and all-rounder Jathneil Nurse, both of Essequibo.
