A post mortem examination conducted on the body of 24-year-old Tameshwar Mangroo concluded that he died from shock and hemorrhage resulting from multiple skull fractures and brain lacerations consistent with being hit by a motor vehicle.
The autopsy was carried out on Tuesday by Government Pathologist Dr. V. Brijmohan at the Bailey’s Funeral Parlour located in 4 Village, West Coast Berbice.
Following the procedure, the body was released to family members for burial.
On Sunday, March 30, around 12:15 hrs, Mangroo was discovered on Lesbeholden Public Road in Black Bush Polder, with severe head injuries and what appeared to be brain matter strewn across the roadway.
His remains were subsequently transported to Mibicuri Public Hospital, where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.
Region Six Police Commander Shivpersaud Bacchus has confirmed that six individuals are in custody, assisting with the ongoing investigation.
