Clinical Berbice crowned Senior Inter-County T20 champs

Berbice lifted the Guyana Cricket Board Senior Female Inter-County T20 title in emphatic fashion on Tuesday, completely outplaying Demerara in the final round at the LBI ground to remain unbeaten.

Plaffiana Millington took 3-11, Tiea Isaacs 3-17 and Sherica Campbelle 2-8 as Demerara made 48 all out from 13.3 overs, with a top score of 24 being extras.

No player got to double figures in a shambolic batting display.

Berbice then eased to victory at 52-2 in 7.2 overs with opener Katan Mentore unbeaten on 21, as leg-spinner Nyia Latchman took 2-17.

Young Berbice batter Realenna Grimmond scored the most runs in the competition- 73 in two innings, including the tournament’s lone half-century, 61 against Demerara.

Millington, Campbelle and Isaacs emerged the joint leading wicket-takers with five scalps each.

Essequibo finished second overall with a victory and a defeat, while Demerara ended at the bottom without a win from two games.
