V-Chart Services expands with new call centre in Enmore

V-Chart Services Guyana, a new call centre, opened on Thursday at Enmore, East Coast Demerara. V-Chart Services, an India-based company officially launched in Guyana in 2023 and this new centre is its third location.

On-the-spot interviews were conducted after the official opening ceremony where approximately 250 persons are expected to be hired.

Finance Minister Dr Ashni Singh spoke about the job opportunities that the new centre will create.

“I am delighted that finally we are able to bring a large, credible international company with a strong track record globally, to this location to operate a business processing outsource (BPO) centre right here in Enmore,” Dr Singh said, adding that for those who will get jobs to make the best of the opportunity.

“There is no limit to how you can grow in the industry if you yourself…be disciplined, be punctual to work, do good quality work, pay attention [and] there is no limit to what you can achieve in this industry.”

V-Chart currently employs 162 Guyanese at its other locations at Tuschen, East Bank Essequibo and Georgetown.

“We want to see you get to the point where you employ a few thousand people in Guyana,” the minister stated.

Chief Executive Officer for V-Chart, Vinyal Shankar highlighted that clients especially from the United States can be very demanding but Guyanese employees have shown resilience over the past few years.

“We set up one pilot then we went on to another one and now, another one, we were very cautious because the clients in the US are very demanding and we wanted to see how it can work out for them and for us but we have been able to prove it and we want to make Guyana part of the world map for V-Chart Services,” the CEO said.

Meanwhile, Minister Singh offered the government’s full support for the new call centre to be successful.

“This government will work closely with you to grow your business in Guyana, we want Guyana to become your headquarters,” Dr Singh stated.

He further highlighted the growth in the industry in recent years.

“What we are seeing is the emergence of a BPO industry, and this BPO industry comprises companies at every point in the spectrum, at one end of the spectrum we have present in Guyana, the world’s largest BPO company – Teleperformance. We have mid-sized companies that are international, V-Chart for example, has its origins in India,” Minister Singh said.
