Police ranks from Regional Division #1 arrested a shop owner in Port Kaituma following the discovery of more than 25 grams of cannabis during a search of his business premises on Friday.
According to police reports, the shop owner voluntarily handed over two Ziplock bags containing what appeared to be cannabis when officers initiated the search.
A further inspection led to the discovery of a bulky plastic bag, which contained several additional Ziplock bags also suspected to contain the illicit substance.
Upon completion of the search, the total weight of the suspected narcotics amounted to approximately 25.3 grams.
The man was cautioned and taken into custody. He remains detained pending charges.
Investigations are ongoing.
