Three men from Linden were Wednesday charged with Robbery Under Arms following an incident involving a resident known as Gang Xing at Central Amelia’s Ward, Mackenzie, Linden.
The accused – 19-year-old welder Muhamad Bakker of Powiese Crescent, Amelia’s Ward; 28-year-old labourer Javon LaFleur of Self Help, Amelia’s Ward; and 19-year-old labourer Elijah Gilkes of South Amelia’s Ward – were arrested on Saturday in connection with the offence.
The trio appeared earlier Wednesday at the Linden Magistrate’s Court where the charge was read to them. They were not required to enter a plea.
Magistrate presiding over the matter granted each defendant bail in the sum of $350,000. As part of their bail conditions, all three are required to report to the Mackenzie Police Station twice per month.
The case has been adjourned to 27 June 2025.
