Police ranks attached to Regional Division Two seized over 50 grams of suspected cocaine and more than 12 grams of suspected cannabis during a late-night patrol on Tuesday near the Farmer’s Wharf at the Supenaam Waterfront.
According to police reports, the ranks were on mobile patrol at approximately 23:17 hrs when they observed four identifiable males in the vicinity of ‘Dunchie’s Shop’. A subsequent search of the surrounding area led officers to discover a transparent plastic bag containing several white rock-like substances believed to be cocaine, along with another plastic bag containing leaves, seeds and stems suspected to be cannabis.
The narcotics were located a short distance away from the men, directly in front of the Farmer’s Wharf. Upon being shown the suspected drugs, all four individuals denied ownership.
The suspects were arrested at the scene and transported to the Aurora Police Station, where the substances were weighed. The suspected cocaine totalled 51.98 grams, while the suspected cannabis amounted to 12.25 grams.
Investigations into the matter are currently ongoing.
