El Dorado Rum National 8-Ball Team Championship starts June 8

The Cue Sports Association of Guyana (CSAG) is preparing to launch its most ambitious tournament to date, with the National 8 Ball Team Championship- backed by Demerara Distillers Limited’s (DDL) El Dorado Rum brand- set to begin on June 8 at the Embassy Sports Bar, Movietowne.

With 168 players representing 24 teams from across the country, this championship is poised to be a national spectacle.

Confirmed teams hail from Bartica, Linden, Berbice, Georgetown, Mahaica, as well as the East Coast, East Bank, West Bank, and West Coast Demerara, highlighting the growing popularity and competitive spirit of 8-ball pool throughout Guyana.

Reflecting its national scope, the tournament will not be limited to a single venue.

Instead, matches will unfold across six host locations- from Berbice and Georgetown to the West Coast Demerara- bringing top-tier cue sports action directly to communities and fans across the country.

The competition will officially launch with an opening ceremony and the first four matches on June 8, setting the stage for a month of thrilling encounters.

The championship will run through June, culminating in a grand finale on July 7, where a new national team champion will be crowned.
