Who is ‘Dirty Doggie’?

Who is ‘Dirty Doggie’, the man who says he calls the shots for Azruddin Mohamed and savagely beat a woman with a gun in public?

Bradley Sampson, 35, who calls himself “Dirty Doggie” is now wanted by the Police for a string of offences, including savagely beating a woman in public with a gun. But who really is Doggie, the man Azruddin gave money to pay those who joined him on the road for Nomination Day Monday?

Doggie is a US-based Guyanese who found fame on social media for his outspoken, expletive-laden posts, and that fame landed him in Azruddin Mohamed’s camp.

Azruddin Mohamed wants to be president of Guyana, and by his own admission, is using his own money, which the US says he acquired from bribery and corruption in his family’s gold business, leading to sanctions.

That money is what he is using to fund his campaign, and from all accounts, he has been using Doggie to organise his affairs.

In one video over the weekend, Doggie said he was responsible for selecting the rendezvous point – Kitty roundabout – for the kickoff of the march to the Umana Yana for Nomination Day. This, he said, was approved by the “boss”, Azruddin.

“I call the shots. I make the decisions,” he said in a video posted on social media.

Several other reports confirm that Azruddin paid supporters to prop up his showing on Nomination Day. One person said Doggie was the one mobilizing; he “hired them.”

One of Azruddin’s biggest supporters, Fatta, went on a Facebook LIVE to indicate that those who were hired had their names written down in a book. They would be paid $50,000 to be out in the streets on Monday.

But she claimed many others turned up at Cuffy Square to demand payment, but she wasn’t so sure their names were “in the book.”

When Azruddin and his party were publicly shamed for leaving a sea of trash along the seawall, Doggie was the one who was used to organise the cleanup.

Then it was time to pay the workers, in signature style, he used Facebook to get his message across.

“All the people who I hire to work on the water truck meet me by Cuffy at 12 pm today,” he posted on social media Tuesday.

Scores showed up to get their money, way more than were “in the book”, according to Fatta.

There was more than one confrontation over the payments, but in the case that is now before the Police, witnesses say one of the women who was there for her payment got a vicious assault. Doggie struck her, brandished his gun (which he doesn’t have a license for) and aimed it menacingly in her direction.

By nightfall, the Guyana Police Force issued a wanted bulletin listing a string of charges: illegal firearm and ammo possession, assault, threatening language, and disorderly behaviour.

Earlier, Doggie said that those who worked for Azruddin on Monday were paid.

“All my workers get paid and they are happy the rest of y’all falls news F*$# off” he wrote in a Facebook post.

Tuesday’s altercation was reminiscent of a similar incident in May, at the same venue, for which Doggie and another of Azruddin’s organisers, Rahayanna ‘Fatta’ Goring, were charged with inciting persons to commit a felony.

In April, Doggie and Fatta were among a mob that violently obstructed Guyana Revenue Authority (GRA) officials from seizing several of Mohamed’s luxury vehicles on the grounds of tax evasion and fraud. They then went to his property for a party.

Though his name does not appear on WIN’s candidate list, Doggie, in a video last week, announced to his 39 thousand followers that he had received an offer from Mohamed to serve in government if the party wins the election.

Azruddin Mohamed was sanctioned in June of last year by the US Treasury Department for gold smuggling, money laundering, and tax evasion.

Doggie has apologised for what happened, but said he will always be “dirty Doggie”. He said he will surrender by noon today.
