Kendell Joseph, called ‘James’, a 26-year-old Amerindian man wanted for the brutal double murder of two farmers in Tuseneng Village, was found dead Thursday morning at Kato Village, North Pakaraimas.
Police believe Joseph took his own life.
Reports indicate that around 7:00 hrs on Thursday, Joseph’s mother, Diana Peters, 44, left their home with family members to have breakfast. When they returned at about 8:50 am, his sister, Lornia Joseph, 28, went to the back of the house and discovered him hanging and unresponsive.
She raised an alarm, and the matter was immediately reported to the Kato Police Station. Joseph’s body was taken to the Kato Cottage Hospital, where a Medex confirmed his death.
Joseph had been on the run since 11th July 2025 after allegedly stabbing Clifton Thomas, 34, and Sylvester Thomas, 20, both Amerindian farmers of Micopara Settlement, Tuseneng Village.
Police investigations revealed that Joseph and the two men were drinking together when an argument erupted. During the confrontation, Joseph allegedly armed himself with a knife and fatally stabbed both victims before fleeing the scene.
Police had issued a wanted bulletin for Joseph earlier this week.
Investigations are ongoing.
