Assistant Commissioner of Police, Raphael Rose, who served as the Commander of Region Nine, passed Wednesday night.
Reports are that Rose collapsed and died while on his way back to Region 9. Rose took over the command of Region 9 back 2021. He was scheduled to head into pre-retirement leave.
The Guyana Police Force on Friday said that Rose was respected for his dedicated service and leadership, particularly his efforts to reduce crime and strengthen community relations.
President Dr Irfaan Ali today also expressed condolence to the family and colleagues of Rose.
“I pray that his family, friends, and colleagues find strength, comfort and courage during this difficult time. May his soul rest in eternal peace,” President Ali said in Facebook post.
