The eight annual Caribbean Schoolboys and Juniors Boxing Tournament, which was scheduled to take place in Guyana from 15-17 August, has been postponed.
The Guyana Boxing Association (GBA) announced that the event will now be held in November.
The GBA cited “unforeseen circumstances” as the reason for the delay.
In a letter sent to other Caribbean boxing associations, the GBA acknowledged the hard work and preparation undertaken by athletes, coaches, and officials across the region.
They apologised for any inconvenience caused and promised to communicate the new dates and logistical information shortly.
GBA President Steve Ninvalle stated that the association is committed to delivering a “world-class event” that will continue to be a “vital platform for the growth and development of young boxing talent.”
