A 27-year-old Sophia resident, Orlando Scott, called ‘Soulja Boy’, has been charged with seven counts of Robbery Under Arms following a series of armed attacks in Golden Grove and Enmore, East Coast Demerara, over the past two months.
Police said Scott, of Lot 1337 ‘E’ Field Cummings Park, Sophia, was arrested on 5 August 2025 by ranks from the Turkeyen Police Station and appeared in court three days later. The charges are in accordance with Section 222(c) of the Criminal Law (Offences) Act, Chapter 8:01.
Four of the charges stem from an armed robbery committed on 12 July 2025 at Golden Grove, ECD. The victims in that case are:
Erwin Walcott, a 45-year-old construction worker
Shailo Walcott, a 22-year-old technician
Bernice Walcott, a 42-year-old housewife
Jada Hughes, a 17-year-old audit clerk
Scott appeared before Magistrate Sunil Scarce at the Vigilance Magistrate’s Court, where he pleaded not guilty to all charges. Bail was refused, and he was remanded to prison until 23 September 2025, when the matters are scheduled for report and statements.
In addition, Scott faces three other charges of Robbery Under Arms in connection with separate incidents in Enmore, ECD:
On 18 June 2025, against Nikesha Makardajh
On 27 June 2025, against Chandradai Singh
On 27 June 2025, against Balchan Singh
For each of these cases, Scott also pleaded not guilty, bail was denied, and the matters were adjourned to 23 September 2025.
Police have not disclosed further details of the investigations, but all charges relate to offences involving the use of a firearm.
