President Dr. Irfaan Ali on Sunday night announced that the public assistance given to vulnerable citizens will be increased to a minimum of $40,000, should the People’s Progressive Party Civic (PPP/C) be re-elected to office at the September 1, 2025, general and regional elections.
President Ali made this announcement on Sunday as he addressed a People’s Progressive Party Civic (PPP/C) rally in Lethem, Region Nine.
This venture, he said, means an additional $19 billion will be spent annually on vulnerable groups.
Currently, the public assistance is $22,000.
