Office Assistant robbed of motorcycle at UG Road

Onix Duncan, a 28-year-old office assistant, was on Monday night robbed of his Honda Navi motorcycle by two cutlass-wielding bandits at UG Road, Turkeyen, Georgetown.

The incident occurred at about 23:20 hrs. Police said Duncan was relieved of his motorcycle, CP 234, valued at $250,000.

According to a Police report, inquiries revealed that Duncan was riding his motorcycle along UG Road. While in the vicinity of the Guyana Forensic Science Laboratory, he was confronted by the two suspects.

The men, who were on a black motorcycle, rode up from behind Duncan.

Police said one suspect approached Duncan while his accomplice tried to pull out his motorcycle keys.

Duncan then fought off the bandits and one of them dealt him a lash to his back with the cutlass which caused him to fall on the ground.

Duncan was then relieved of his motorcycle and the suspects rode off heading north on UG road, and made good their escape.

Police said efforts were made to locate the suspect as well as the motorcycle but they were futile.
