Young squash sensation Ethan Bulkan is on the cusp of a remarkable achievement at the Moo National Junior Squash Championships as he prepares to contest the finals of the Under-13, Under-15, and Under-17 categories.
Meanwhile, the girls’ Under-19 division is poised for a captivating finale with the title hanging in the balance.
The championships will conclude this afternoon (April 12) at the Georgetown Club Courts, promising a day of high-octane squash action.
Under-11: Today’s action will see Ingram Edwards face Rafael Brathwaite in the Boys’ final, while Azaria Proffit will battle Ella Fernandes for the girls’ title.
Under-13: The girls’ Under-13 category, contested in a round-robin format, was won by the dominant Tehani Munroe, who emerged victorious in all three of her matches.
In the boys’ division, Ethan Bulkan remains unbeaten and needs just one more victory against Maxwell Viapree to clinch the title. He demonstrated his dominance on Friday with a resounding 11-1, 11-3, 11-0 win over Benjamin Phang.
Under-15: The boys’ Under-15 final promises to be a highlight of the day, pitting the in-form Bulkan against a worthy opponent in Justin Ten Pow.
Bulkan reached the final after a hard-fought semi-final victory against his brother Egan (11-6, 11-1, 11-8), while Ten Pow overcame Kaiden Alli in a tight three-game encounter (11-7, 12-10, 11-4).

In the girls’ Under-15 round-robin, Kaylee Lowe has been the standout performer, remaining unbeaten after four of her five matches. She will play her final match against Tiana Gomes today.
Emily Fung-A-Fat, whose only loss came against Lowe, will conclude her campaign against Zoey McDonald.
Under-17: Ethan Bulkan will aim for his third title of the championships when he faces Justin Ten Pow in the Under-17 final.
Both players recorded convincing semi-final victories, with Ten Pow defeating namesake Justin Goberdhan 11-4, 11-2, 11-2, and Bulkan overcoming Blake Edwards 11-6, 11-4, 3-11, 11-8.
Under-19: As anticipated, Louis Da Silva is set to claim the boys’ Under-19 title in the round-robin format, having won both of his opening two matches. He will conclude his campaign today against Nandisraj Singh, who is still searching for his first win.
The girls’ Under-19 category is headed for a thrilling conclusion, with Kaylee Lowe and Emily Fung-A-Fat the frontrunners.
Lowe will face Rylee Rodrigues, while Fung-A-Fat will battle Safirah Sumner in matches that ultimately determine the champion.
Earlier results saw Kaylee Lowe and Safirah Sumner triumph in the girls’ doubles final, 11-10, 11-2.
Louis DaSilva and Justin Goberdhan secured the title in the boys’ doubles with an 11-6, 11-8 win over Blake Edwards and Demetri Lowe.
The mixed doubles final saw Louis DaSilva and Safirah Sumner combine again to defeat Ethan Bulkan and Emily Fung-A-Fat 11-9, 11-10 in a closely fought encounter.
Beyond individual honours, the players fiercely compete for coveted spots on the national team that will represent Guyana at the upcoming Caribbean Area Squash Association (CASA) Championships in the Cayman Islands in late June.
