Rose Hall Community Centre Cricket Club grateful for equipment from government

The Rose Hall Community Centre Cricket Club wishes to extend its heartfelt gratitude to the government of Guyana for donating a large quantity of cricket gear and coaching equipment.

“Special thanks must be given to his Excellency Dr. Irfaan Ali, who is a true lover of cricket, and Dr. Ashni Singh, who was the driving force behind this project,” a release from the club stated.

“Our club would also like to give a special thank you to Vice-Chairman Zamal Hussain, REO Narindra Persaud, Ray Ali and everyone else that played a role in recognising our club. Our club must commend our Government for the major role they have played in the development of sports and the re-opening of the sugar estate.”

“Rose Hall Canje felt the blunt of it when the estate was closed down and lost a large population of young cricketers as our club is located in the heart of East Canje.”

This is not the first time the club has received support from government- a few years back a driving lawn mower was donated.

The Rose Hall Community Centre Cricket Club has racked up an impressive list of county and national cricketers over the years.

They include Guyana Harpy Eagles fast bowler Isai Thorne, West Indies Women’s player and West Indies Under-19 first-ever Women’s captain Ashmini Munisar, West Indies Women Under-19 and Guyana senior player Realeanna Grimmond, the Ramdeholl brothers and young Adrian Hetmyer.

“Our club currently has six players in the Berbice team at the Women’s Under-19 Inter-county, the most by any single club in the tournament. The Guyana Under-15 team, currently competing in the Rising Stars tournament in Antigua, is currently being led by our very own Richard Ramdeholl,” the club release added.

“The government’s impact has allowed our club to be one of the fastest rising youth clubs in our country and we are extremely grateful. Thank you.”
