Unity Gym’s Marley Vyphius won the Guyana Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation’s (GBBFF) ‘Battle of the Rising Stars’ novice competition on Sunday.
The event, held at the Royal International Hotel on Mandela Avenue, showcased emerging bodybuilding and fitness talent in Guyana.
Vyphius dominated the Heavyweight division (over 177 lbs), securing first place ahead of Timothy Roberts and Elliot Gonsalves on Sunday.
He also clinched the top spot in the Men’s Masters Bodybuilding category.
Roley Chandler of Kares CrossFit also impressed, taking first place in Bodybuilding Under 176 lbs, Men’s Physique, Junior Men’s Physique, and Junior Bodybuilding.
In the Bodybuilding Under 154 lbs category, Fitrex Gym’s Denellson Ambrose claimed victory, with Adrian Da Silva of L&L Fitness Gym finishing second. Ambrose also took second place in Junior Bodybuilding.
In the Kids Fitness category, Taraji Bascom, Naomi Risse of Radical Fitness, and Trinity Cole tied for first place.
Unity Gym’s Emelrna Westmoreland won the Miss Bikini Wellness title, while Desmond Nicholson of Team Cyborg triumphed in the Under 165 lbs category.
The GBBFF hailed the event as a success, congratulating Vyphius and all participants.
