President Dr Irfaan Ali has assured workers that they will enjoy better salaries and fewer taxes.
“As we confront the challenges of the future, you can be assured, under a People’s Progressive Party/ Civic government, of higher levels of income… You will be assured of continuous higher levels of income.
“You will be assured of less taxation under the People’s Progressive Party/ Civic government,” President Ali said on Sunday.
Other benefits promised are enhanced health care, improved education, cash grants alongside lower water and electricity rates.
“We honour your hard work, we celebrate your hard work and we will do so not only by words, we will do so with actions,” President Ali said.
He, however, reasoned that workers have a responsibility of holding every leader accountable.
