New Amsterdam businesswoman suffocated, drowned – Autopsy 

An autopsy was conducted on the body of Stacy Walton, the 22-year-old businesswoman of New Amsterdam, Region Six (East Berbice- Corentyne), who died early Friday morning after the vehicle she was driving crashed into a trench.

Police Headquarters said government pathologist Dr. Bridgemohan conducted the autopsy early Sunday morning. Asphyxia and drowning were given as the woman’s cause of death.

The Guyana Police Force, in a statement issued on Saturday, noted that Walton was driving a car (#PAG 2279) along the No. 7 Public Road in East Berbice. At about 01:50 hrs Friday, she reportedly lost control of the car and crashed into a trench on the southern side of the road.

The woman was pronounced dead and her body was taken to the New Amsterdam Public Hospital’s mortuary, awaiting a post-mortem examination.
