An early-morning police operation in the Guyhoc Squatting Area, Georgetown on Sunday led to the arrest of a teenage girl and the recovery of an unlicensed firearm hidden inside a speaker box.
It unfolded between 03:30 and 04:30 hrs, as police ranks launched a ‘cordon and search’ operation targeting stolen property, illegal weapons, narcotics, and suspects wanted for serious crimes.
Acting on a tip-off, officers zeroed in on the home of Kristoff Nicholson, a 29-year-old labourer, and Condoleezza Henry, a 19-year-old national of St. Lucia. Both are wanted in connection with a violent Robbery Under Arms and Attempted Murder of 69-year-old Claudius Fraser, an operations manager at Caliber Security Service.
During the search, officers made a startling discovery — a .32 revolver, along with one live round and a spent shell, all tucked away inside a speaker box.
When asked if she had a firearm licence, Henry reportedly replied “no”. She was immediately cautioned, arrested, and taken to the East La Penitence Police Station, where she remains in custody. The weapon and ammunition were seized as evidence.
Meanwhile, Nicholson is still on the run, and efforts to locate him are ongoing. Police have confirmed that investigations are continuing.
