Ever since joining the club in April for the First Division competition, Jones has played a crucial role with ball and bat in the 14 matches to date.

Last weekend he got pass the 50-wicket mark after completing another five-wicket haul, his third on the trot and five in total for the season.

Jones has also been impactful with the bat, scoring 236 runs with two fifties, the highest being 67.

Joshua Jones exults after taking a wicket

“It’s been an excellent season so far for me and I’m extremely thankful to reach the landmark of 50 wickets,” Jones told News Room Sport.

“With eight more matches to go in the season, I’m looking to get as many wickets as possible and continue my good form for the club.”

Jones views this experience in England as a crucial stepping stone towards his next immediate goal: representing the Guyana Harpy Eagles in regional cricket.

“That’s my aim at the moment- get into the national senior team and work my way up from there,” Jones related.

His time in the competitive environment of English league cricket is seen as an opportunity to hone his skills and gain valuable exposure.

“The experience here is vital,” he noted.

Jones’ stint with Billesdon Cricket Club ends in September.
