GFF’s specialised goalkeeping workshop aims to strengthen position development

The Guyana Football Federation (GFF) has hosted a specialised goalkeeping coaching workshop, led by Head of Goalkeeping Eon DeViera, to enhance the skills and knowledge of coaches across the country.

The session, titled “Optimising the Game Warm-Up: For Goalkeeping Coaches,” focused on providing coaches with the tools to better prepare goalkeepers for match situations.

Participants learned about the importance of a well-planned pre-game routine and specific drills designed to sharpen focus and agility.

DeViera described the initiative as “very essential” and a crucial step for goalkeeping development in Guyana. “Goalkeeping can be the difference between winning and losing. We need to equip coaches with the right tools,” he said.

The GFF has confirmed that the workshop is the first of many initiatives planned to support and develop goalkeeping coaches within clubs, with the ultimate goal of strengthening the pipeline of talented goalkeepers for both local and international competition.
