The Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) is reinforcing its commitment to youth cricket. President Bissoondyal Singh visited the national U17 squad before they departed for the Cricket West Indies Rising Stars Under-17 Tournament in Trinidad and Tobago.
The team, led by captain Romario Ramdeholl and vice-captain Parmeshwar Ram, departed for Trinidad and Tobago on Sunday..
Singh praised the squad’s dedication and hard work during his interaction with the players and coaching staff.
He also presented several players with new cricket gear, ensuring they are well-equipped for the challenges ahead.
“This group reflects the promise and potential of Guyana’s cricketing future,” Singh said, urging the players to “play with discipline, unity, and pride.”

The tournament, which will feature both two-day and 50-over formats, is scheduled to run from August 11 to September 2.
Guyana’s campaign will begin with a clash against the Windward Islands at the National Cricket Center in Couva.
The full Guyana U17 squad is as follows: Romario Ramdeholl (captain), Parmeshwar Ram (vice-captain), Richard Ramdeholl, Lomar Seecharran, Emmanuel Lewis, Adrian Hetmyer, Shamar Apple (wicketkeeper), Nicholas Lovell, Feeaz Baksh, Dave Mohabir, Navindra Sankar, Gibran Yacoob, Micah Amsterdam, and Darwin Joseph.
Vishal Williams, Bhomesh Lall, Johnathan Mentore, Shane Prince, Jathniel Nurse, and Dhanesh Persaud are standby players.
