The truck driver involved in the horrific accident along the Soesdyke/Linden Highway on Saturday morning, which resulted in the deaths of three people, did not hold a truck licence, according to a statement from Police Headquarters.
Police further reported that the truck had no reflectors at the rear, sides, or front to alert other road users.
The accident occurred at approximately 01:30 hrs on Saturday in the vicinity of Loo Creek.
Mario Campbell, a 26-year-old man from Hyde Park, Timehri, was driving with his seven-year-old son and two other passengers when they collided with the truck. Police said the truck, which was transporting wooden materials, experienced a tyre blowout and came to a stop along the highway.

Mario was also admitted to hospital with a dislocated left foot and a displaced left eye. His condition is regarded as serious but stable.
