New Timehri Police Station commissioned

A modern Police Station was commissioned at Timehri, East Bank Demerara, on Wednesday, a move expected to help Officers better serve the communities nearby.

Police Headquarters reported that the facility will serve the #3 Sub-Division, the largest in Regional Police Division 4B. This expansive area spans from Garden of Eden to Moblissa and has a population of over 35,000 residents. It also includes major hubs such as the South Dakota Circuit, Splashmins Resort, Azisa Akuza Creek, and the Cheddi Jagan International Airport.

Commander Wayne DeHearte of Regional Police Division 4B reportedly emphasised that the new building is not merely a physical structure, but a symbol of progress, modernisation, and dedication to service.

Commander DeHearte highlighted the new station’s strategic importance, noting that while crime levels remain moderate, hotspots such as Timehri North and Loo Creek demand strengthened policing. The modern infrastructure will enhance operational capacity, ensure faster response times, and improve service delivery.
