Police Officers in Region 10 (Upper Demerara- Berbice) recently found and destroyed over $3.8 million worth in cannabis growing on a farm along the Berbice River.
Police Headquarters, in a statement, said the discovery was made during an exercise that was conducted between the areas of Wiruni and St Lust in the Berbice River.

The farm, which measures approximately three acres in size, consisted of 250 beds. There were also 50 plants, ranging four to six feet.
Altogether, Police said a total of 12,500 plants, with an average height of 27,500 kilogrammes were found and destroyed.
The narcotics destroyed carry a street value of $3,875,531, Police added.

During the exercise too, a nursery with about 25,200 plants and 140 pounds of dried cannabis was unearthed.

No arrest was made.
