Pedestrian dies in hit-and-run accident at Buxton 

A hit-and-run accident on Church of God Road, Buxton, East Coast Demerara, claimed the life of 62-year-old Adree Slowe late Friday night.

Slowe, a resident of Lot 8 Vigilance South, was struck by a minibus while crossing the road around 11:00 hrs.

According to police reports, Slowe was crossing from the southern side to the northern side of Church of God Road when the minibus, identified by the license plate BAC 4129, collided with him. The vehicle, which was traveling east at high speed, dragged Slowe approximately 100 feet before fleeing the scene.

Emergency medical teams pronounced Slowe dead upon arrival. The body was subsequently transported to Memorial Gardens Mortuary for a Post-Mortem Examination after being handled by Memorial Funeral Home.

Authorities are actively investigating the incident and are seeking information on the driver of the minibus, whose identity remains unknown. The search for the vehicle and its driver continues as police work to piece together the events leading up to this devastating accident.
