Hope Estate resident on $300K bail after charged with rape

A 20-year old Hope Estate, East Coast Demerara labourer was on Friday charged with rape and placed on $300,000 bail. Senior Magistrate Sunil Scarce read the charge to Parmeshwar Jacobs called ‘Andy’ or ‘Akeem’ when he appeared at the Vigilance Magistrates’ Court. The offence was allegedly committed between February 1, 2023 and February 28, 2023
