Police have arrested two men following the discovery of 1.05 kilograms of marijuana in their Grove Squatting Area, East Bank Demerara (EBD) house on Thursday.
In custody are Erron Rigby, 28, a welder and Leisha Braam, 24, a security guard of Grove, Squatting Area, EBD.
In a statement, Police Headquarters said the marijuana which was in several transparent Ziploc bags was found during an intelligence-led operation different sections of the house including the kitchen, bedroom and ceiling.
Police said the suspects were told of the Police reason for being at the premises. They had no objection and allowed the ranks to enter and conduct a search.
During the process, Police said the parcels of marijuana was unearthed.
The suspects were told of the offence committed and they remained silent.
They were arrested and subsequently escorted to the Grove Police Station, where the cannabis was weighed in their presence, and it amounted to 1.05 kilograms.
Both men remain in custody pending further investigations.
