Archery Guyana has received significant corporate backing from Massy Gas Products (Guyana) Ltd. ahead of its participation in the seventh Caribbean Development Championships (CDC) in Trinidad and Tobago.
The sponsorship is specifically allocated to procuring standardised national apparel for the Guyanese contingent.
The championships are set to run from October 22–28, 2025.
Archery Guyana is fielding one of its largest-ever international teams, comprising 31 athletes and 11 officials.
The athletes will compete across the Recurve, Compound, and Barebow disciplines in beginner, developmental, and amateur categories.
At the brief handover ceremony at the company’s Head Office, Afzal Karim, Assistant Vice President of Finance and Administration for Massy Gas Products, presented the cheque to Vidushi Persaud-McKinnon, President of Archery Guyana.
Persaud-McKinnon emphasised that the support was crucial for team morale and professionalism.
“This generous contribution will significantly enhance our team’s sense of national pride and unity,” she stated.
“This partnership strengthens our efforts to build capacity and present our athletes in a manner that reflects professionalism as we prepare to represent Guyana on the regional stage.”
Karim commended the federation’s progress and its commitment to values such as “discipline, teamwork, and excellence,” noting that these align with Massy Gas Products’ own corporate principles.
The upcoming Caribbean Development Championships represent a key opportunity for the Guyanese archers to gain regional experience and further develop the sport nationally.
