The Hand-in-Hand Mutual Fire and Life Insurance Companies has officially opened a new branch at Hotel Amazonas in Lethem, extending its footprint to the Rupununi region and further strengthening its nationwide network of nineteen offices.
The launch ceremony, which attracted residents and special guests, marked a key milestone in Hand-in-Hand’s mission to bring reliable and affordable insurance coverage to communities across Guyana.
Delivering opening remarks, the company’s Human Resources Manager, Mrs. Zaida Joaquin, underscored the significance of the expansion, while Marketing Manager, Ms. Savita Singh, detailed the company’s diverse range of insurance products—now available to Lethem residents at competitive rates with the hallmark quality and customer care for which Hand-in-Hand is known.
The Mayor of Lethem commended the company’s longstanding service to the Guyanese people and its ongoing role in supporting national and community development.
Adding to the occasion’s cultural flair, prayers were offered by Mr. Paul Braam, Legal and Compliance Officer, followed by a poetry presentation from Brandon Singh, award-winning writer and the event’s Master of Ceremonies. The highlight of the afternoon was a lively performance by the Rupununi Wildfire Dance Group, which captivated the audience with their authentic and expressive style.
Also in attendance were Mr. Krishundatt Ayoganand (Accountant), Mr. Winston George (Maintenance Technician), Ms. Rushell Hackett (Sales Representative), and branch representatives Joshua and Luke.
Celebrating 160 years of service this year, Hand-in-Hand stands as Guyana’s oldest insurance company and remains the only locally established insurer rated by AM Best. The launch of the Lethem Branch forms part of its anniversary expansion drive aimed at enhancing accessibility and strengthening its relationship with communities nationwide.
