Paradise Invaders FC moved to the summit of the Berbice Football Association (BFA) Senior Men’s League after a sensational 7–1 victory over Ithaca FC, while Trafalgar Titans FC secured a solid win in a goal-filled Sunday night of action.
The BFA League, sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport, delivered drama and plenty of goals across the double-header at the Number 5 Ground, West Coast Berbice.
Paradise Invaders continued their remarkable goal-scoring form, netting 13 goals across two matches over the weekend, a run that culminated in the emphatic defeat of Ithaca FC.
The result lifts them to the top of the table on 10 points.
Paradise’s attack was relentless from the off, with Keysean Mingo setting the tone by breaking the deadlock early.
However, Deon Moriah stole the show, netting an incredible hat-trick that shredded the Ithaca defence and spearheaded the comprehensive victory.
Support came from Curtland Richmond, who bagged a classy brace, demonstrating clinical finishing, while Devon Fraser and Keywan Mingo also found the net to maintain the relentless pressure.
The attacking trio of Moriah, Richmond, and Fraser proved virtually unstoppable.
Their movement and link-up play overwhelmed an Ithaca side that struggled to cope with the pace and intensity.
In the evening’s opening match, Trafalgar Titans earned a hard-fought 3–1 victory over Fyrish Black Sharks FC, responding to an early scare with impressive composure.
Black Sharks struck first in the 10th minute through Tyrease Gibson, who capitalised on a lapse in the Trafalgar defence to give his side a brief advantage.
However, the Titans hit back almost instantly. Just a minute later, Jeremy Thornhill found the crucial equaliser in the 11th minute to steady the ship and ignite the Titans’ fightback.
Trafalgar took control before the interval when Enriquez Lewis coolly slotted home in the 42nd minute to make it 2–1.
The victory was sealed midway through the second half when Deandary McKenzie added a third goal in the 67th minute, confirming a valuable three points for Trafalgar.
Meanwhile, on Friday at the same venue, Cougars FC lost to Ithaca FC 1-3, while Paradise Invaders beat Trafalgar 6-1 in a one-sided affair.
The Titans sit on six points, with Ithaca FC now second on nine.
