Knee injury ends Ramdhani’s campaign in CAREBACO Senior Championship

A horrific knee injury ended Priyanna Ramdhani’s campaign in the CAREBACO Senior Caribbean Championship early on the final day in Trinidad and Tobago on Tuesday.

The Guyanese star player was slated to compete in the final of the Women’s Singles and later the Women’s Doubles championship game, but during the Singles final against Amara Urquhart of the host nation, Priyanna’s left patella (knee cap) slipped out of place, forcing here to land on the turf.

Ramdhani had already won the opening set 21-14 and was leading the second set 13-11 when the unfortunate incident occurred. She subsequently had to seek medical attention and officials awarded the gold medal to Urquhart.
