Oyanna Stewart, 28, of Wismar, Linden was granted $600,000 bail after being charged with manslaughter on Friday. Stewart is accused of fatally stabbing her boyfriend, Kevin Alexander, a 30-year-old carpenter also from Wismar.
Stewart appeared at the Linden Magistrate’s Court before Magistrate Rushelle Liverpool. She was not required to plea to the indictable charge. This matter was adjourned December 18, 2025.
Police reported that the incident occurred on Monday night during during a domestic altercation.
According to the police report, during an argument between Alexander and Stewart, the woman allegedly stabbed Alexander once to the left side of his abdomen.
Relatives and public-spirited residents rushed the injured man to the Linden Hospital Complex, but he was pronounced dead on arrival by a doctor on duty.
