Cocaine, cannabis & cash found at Issano 

Police Officers in Region Seven (Cuyuni- Mazaruni) recovered quantities of cannabis and cocaine at the Honey Camp Landing, Issano. Cash, believed to be from the sale of the narcotics, was also found.

A release from Police Headquarters noted that the ranks intercepted two males: a 48-year-old resident of Linden and a 29-year-old resident of Lethem both pork-knockers.

A search of the 48-year-old resulted in the discovery of:
a) 98.3 grams of suspected cannabis
b) 62.4 grams of suspected cocaine and
c) A quantity of cash believed to be proceeds from narcotics sales

A search of the 29-year-old resulted in the discovery of:
a) 2.5 grams of suspected cannabis
b) 1.5 grams of a rock-like substance suspected to be cocaine

All suspected narcotics were taken to the Issano Police Station where they were weighed and lodged in the presence of both suspects. The cash was counted, recorded and lodged as exhibit.

Both males were arrested and remain in custody as investigations continue.
